This special project was created for Ana Lucia, who originally developed a handmade scrapbook to teach Spanish to English-speaking children while babysitting. Looking to expand its reach, she sought to self-publish the book and needed a professional designer to bring her vision to life.

Challenge
Design the book’s cover and interior layout, ensuring that the final product retains the handmade charm of the original while enhancing readability, appeal and industrial production.
Solution
From concept development to print preparation, my focus was on delivering a seamless and polished product that effectively combined Ana Lucia’s personal touch with a professional finish. Overseeing the entire creative process, I collaborated closely with an illustrator to maintain consistency and clarity throughout the book. The final book shows its humanity with typography and illustration style that evoke a handmade and naive feeling, appropriate to the audience. Vibrant colour palettes were used to communicate a playful and child-friendly vibe.
Outcome
A book that conveys Ana Lucia’s vision, ready to be sold in the market, while preserving a playful and childlike look to attract both children and parents.
